We provided guidance on new Tous Les Jour design approach for the US market
Since its launch in the United States in 2004, Tous les Jours (TLJ) has developed into a reputable bakery & café franchise, specializing in French-Asian inspired baked goods, passionately made from the finest ingredients. Prior to launching in the US market, the TLJ brand and its guidelines had been long established in Korea (since 1997).
TLJ planned to re-brand to fit better within the U.S. market. SCAAA provided spatial consulting services to redesign the layout of Tous les Jours Cerritos café, responding to market research on consumer demographics and cultural context.
To create palpable freshness, the new designs optimized the view and spatial connection to the kitchen. The exposed kitchen showcases the cooking and baking activities to tickle the customer’s senses and maximize the perception of freshness. Furthermore, customers can witness the step-by-step production of bread, as the goods are placed directly onto open display shelves (The Fresh Rack). As a result, the renovated kitchen has dual products - the baked goods themselves, as well as the sensory experience of their production.
